If you are wondering how to get your dog to stop barking then I think I can help you out. My dogs always barked at the start of living with me. I got so angry. I could not sleep and the neighbours always complained. It was terrible. It came down to learning how to stop barking or getting rid of them. I learned some great techniques and never turned back. Here are some top tips for how to get your dog to stop barking.

Pain – You have to make your dog feel like it will receive some kind of pain if it barks too much for your liking. You can do this is a few days or whatever you fancy but I have a few ideas for you. You can throw water over your dog when it starts to bark. This will startle it, but make sure that he dog does not know that you threw the water otherwise it will only behave when you are around and not when you go and he is in the garden.

Pleasure – You have to treat your dogs well too. You cannot be concentrating too much on the pain and get good maximum results in the shortest possible time. A good idea is to recognise the days when your dog barks less than usual and reward them with whatever they like. On the other days totally ignore your dog except for feeding it obviously. This might be hard but recognise that it is good in the long term for both of you.

Consistency – The main thing here is consistency. Keep on changing your approach until you get the results you want. If you say you are going to not give them a treat for a month when they bark too much though then stick to that. If you give them different orders each day then you will get different results each day.
